Purushottam Panda, Executive Director, PowerTrain, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), has 33 years of experience in the field of Vehicle Engineering. He joined MSIL as a Graduate Engineer Trainee and worked on functions such as Powertrain engineering, Vehicle durability testing, Product Strategy, Product Planning, Project Management, NVH engineering, and Vehicle Ride & handling.
Panda had been instrumental in bringing new generation powertrain technology to India, which has helped increase fuel efficiency of MSIL vehicles over three decades. He has keen interest in tracking technology and crystal ball gazing, in passenger cars. In his present role as Head of Powertrain division in the MSIL Engineering vertical, he is responsible for bringing new technologies to improve Engine Efficiency, Fuel economy and Implementation of future emission regulations like BS-VI. He has been in various regulatory forums of SIAM such as Environment and Conservation, and was Vice Chairman of SAE Northern India chapter.
