Miron Thoms, Vice President and Head of Volvo Penta India, has worked for the
Volvo Group for almost 10 years. Born in Germany, Thomas studied in Germany and Poland. He has a combined degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration.

He joined the Volvo Group in 2008 and has experience in marketing, sales, business development, manufacturing as well as engine and engine aftertreatment technology. He has been working in different countries within the Volvo Group before he became Volvo Penta’s Project and Business Development Manager in 2009.

At the end of 2012, Miron was relocated from Sweden to Germany to open a new office in Munich for Volvo Penta as Head of the Industrial Engine Segment in Germany and Switzerland. In his current role, Miron is responsible for further strengthening Volvo Penta’s ambitions to grow in India along with heading the overall financial and operational management of the company. He is also the Site Manager for Volvo Penta Global Purchasing Team in India.

Thoms will deliver the Special Address at the Inaugural Session. His speech will focus on the evolution of powertrains over a period of time and what Volvo has been focusing on during the past few years. He will also speak on the challenges of developing the new generation powertrain with environmental regulations becoming stricter by the day.
